Nimbae posted a suggestion some time ago, referring to an individual who had created and even applied a weighted PvP ranking system based on an Index which used many different variables to establish an overall player score. I am that individual:)
Here is a link to the results of my first experiment with this index:

I think there is a lot of potential with the concept, and the players who participated seemed to really appreciate the Index. Unfortunately, as a grad student, I simply didn't have the time to upkeep the Index. But, you all at Yellow Gremlin have all the data you need to create and maintain an Index score for all players. As many people have noted, there are those in the current Yellow Gremlin system with very, very low K : D ratios that are amongst the highest in PvP ranking simply because of the mass amount of games they played. If a player has played 10,000 PvP encounters, and has a .3 K : D ratio, that simply means despite actual, real world experience in PvP, they are still less skilled than someone who has much less kills, but a higher K : D ratio. At least, that was the initial line of thought that made me create the Index in the first place :)
I would be more than willing to send the excel spreadsheet that shows the math, variables and weighting system to a YG admin for further analysis!
Please let me know if I can help in any other way regarding this issue.
