Just wondering, what is your favorite thing about AoC? What is the thing that makes it better than all other MMOs?

By far the graphics. I'm used to play wow but I ended up quiting it when conan came out cause I couldn't stand the kid-like graphics.

I love the enviroments, which in large part is due to the graphics.


Ymir's pass looks awesome on a high end rig, I like to bring WoW friends round to watch their jaws drop.

Seriously where to begin with whats so damn sexy about this game. Lopping off heads? Maybe jamming my blade into someones stomach then stepping up and snapping their necks? MMORPG with FATALITIES! Landscape looks unreal. Wolves eat badgers for a nice real factor while you're running around Cimmeria. If you create a barbarian, you really feel like a damn BARBARIAN in every way possible. I'm only level 31, but i damn pleased with this game so far, and i can only hope to log in more hours.:D

On a rig with the right equipment, the graphics win. Other than that, pretty much any of the music I hear in Cimmeria...

Hard to pick whats best, honestly though if I had to choose one thing it would be the amount of potential for future content this game has.


Really when you think about the foundation of the game with all of its features, really puts a grin on my face when thinking about what could be down the road on top of the already impressive amount of features this game has.

As someone who plays this game on a high end rig, I must agree the graphics are amazing. But if you guys think this game looks good now, wait till they switch it over to DX10.

I've seen some screenshot comparisons from FunCom and the differences are way more than subtle. =)

-The imagery.
Not simply the graphics, but the image they create and the mood in which they place you.

-The music.
I often play in Cimmeria for no better reason than to hear that woman singing. :)

-The combat.
The non auto-target / non auto-attck combat. SO much better!

-Immersion.
I haven't found myself being so completely immersed in an MMO since EQ1.

-Potential
Good Lord there are literally miles and miles they could take this game! Fix up a few more remaining issues, develope an expansion which adds about 18 zones and a new race (say, the Turanians ;) ), possibly another class, and get some good marketing people and make an ad blitz and get this game really rolling!

The visceral combat and the fact that healers are not just healbots.

The combat, the combat flow, the hardcore PvP (compared to WoW and WAR at least), the fatalities, the classes!!! the scenery/artwork, the graphics ofc, the dungeons are awesome as well even though I'm more into PvP than PvE.
Basically I love everything about this game bar the bugs, and my there has been some bugs ! ><
But I think many (if not most) have been ironed out by now making the game a more pleasant experience.

Besides the awsome graphics and most everything the others mentioned, the fact that you DON'T lose xp have to dread dying all the damn time makes it a great play.
